Sarah E. Yergeau serves as Program and Policy Associate for the Westchester Children’s Association. She is responsible for WCA’s programmatic initiatives including mobilizing WCA’s advocacy partners, monitoring legislation to assess the impact on children and youth, and also managing WCA’s social media presence. Sarah will be speaking about the WCA’s Raise the Age initiative, which seeks to raise the minimum age of criminal responsibility in New York from 16 to 18 years old. Currently, New York is one of two states where youth as young as 16 automatically end up in adult courts, jails and prisons. Please join us in learning about this important issue.
