From Rabbi Jaffe about membership
Dear Potential Member,
Welcome to Temple Beth El of Northern Westchester. As the Senior Rabbi, I am proud to serve this historic and vibrant congregation. Moreover, as I was raised in Honolulu, Hawaii and only recently moved to Chappaqua from San Francisco, I too may be counted among Temple Beth El’s newest members! So, thank you for considering joining my fellow clergy, staff, lay leaders and congregatnts who have elected to call Beth El our home.
We are taught that the Torah scroll is unusable if even a single letter is missing. So too, we believe that each and every individual possesses infinite value to the Jewish community. As each of us are created betselem elohim – in the image of God, each member of our congregation adds to the sacred nature of our family.
I invite you to contact me and my clergy colleagues at your convenience to meet in person and discuss in further depth how we at Temple Beth El may best support you and your family. Feel free to email Jaclyn Dubray at JDubray@bethelnw.org in order to set up an appointment. Otherwise, I welcome you to get to know us through our various worship, study or community engagement opportunities. You can learn more about who we are and what we do via our website or monthly bulletin.
Thank you for exploring Temple Beth El and for considering how our family may best fit yours. Should you have any further questions or comments, please do not hesitate to contact me directly.
L’Shalom,
Rabbi Jonathan Jaffe
