Packing Blizzard Boxes for the Needy
MLK weekend project at home
Blizzard Boxes: non-perishable meal kits for the homebound
We are excited to partner with the UJA and ShamesJCC on this wonderful community-wide project. Registration required by January 10.
Blizzard Boxes are used to supplement food delivery to the needy in the event of a snow storm. In honor of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr's legacy, the UJA is bringing together thousands of New Yorkers in a call to social action making Blizzard Boxes and other projects. Join Beth El and make a difference in our community - put together your boxes and fill them with all the essentials listed below.
Click here to register for your Blizzard Box Kit. Register by January 10. The UJA will be supplying the kit* which you can pick up at Beth El.
Pick up your kit from Beth El: January 13-17.
Drop off your Blizzard Box: January 18-19
Kits will be left outside for pick-up and drop off. *
Each kit includes materials to complete two Blizzard Boxes: boxes, tissue, DIY card printouts and coloring sheets. Your family then fills the box at home with a non-perishable meal (suggestions below).
Please note, you must register in order to pick up a kit.
On the registration form you will see many projects. Choose Temple Beth El in Chappaqua Blizzard Box Kit when registering on the form. Feel free to do other projects as well.
On MLK Day you can join on Zoom with others in the county as they too fill their boxes and learn about other UJA social action projects. The Zoom link will be provided after you register for the event.
